But surely, being passionate does not mean displaying the passion... is not the passion the fire inside... and does not the tawa ensure that the roti's are made and not burnt (unless, you actually want tandoori roti's in which case you can throw caution to the wind and the tawa to the dogs!)...

Just like the tawa, i believe one can use the brain to temper the passion of the heart...

With the tawa (intelligence) alone, one cannot make anything edible... but such is not the case the heart (passion)...

Each situation calls for a different temperature, and that (the tawa - the thoughts) which can be adjusted, must be, or the dish shall not be as flavoursome! :)

I wonder if that is what the zen master calls balance? Not being one, i would not know! ;)

True it does, and yes i agree that in the balance lies mediocrity.

But then sometimes you are too passionate about something and then when you try to explain it to somebody you end up losing the ability to sound reasonable because passion takes over.

It always happens with me.

What i have realised is that within myself i want passion, but the moment i try to / IF i try to explain something i feel strongly about then i will want to liberally douse my passion with reason.

... until i am confident that i am mature enough :)

does not the lorenz attractor send you around in circles... must not one of passion or reason be disregarded completely if you are to be free of the chains of the other... surely in the balance also lies mediocrity! and can one be great in their mediocrityness... surely yes, but is that where one wants to be?
